Raging Bull [Jan. 9th, 2005|03:46 am]
[Current Music |The Beach Boys - Wouldn't It Be Nice]

"I remember those cheers, they still ring in my ears and for years they remain in my thoughts. 'Cause one night I took of my robe and, what'd I do?, I forgot to where shorts. I recall every fall, every hook, every jab, the worst way a guy can get rid of his flab. As you know my life was a jab, Though I'd rather hear you cheer when I delve into Shakespeare "A horse, A horse. My kingdom for a horse" I haven't had a winner in six months. And though I'm no Olivier, If he fought Sugar Ray he would say it the thing ain't the ring, its the play. So give me a stage, Where this Bull here could rage, And though I could fight I'd much rather recite: That's Entertainment. "

Solaris [May. 21st, 2004|10:12 pm]
[Current Music |Boards of Canada - Sixtyniner]

"Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion."
dylan thomas

solaris:
"Earth, even the word sounded strange to me now, unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had i been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm to the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive. I made a conscious effort to smie, nod, stand and preform the millions of gesturess that constitute life on Earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong. Somehow I was wrong about everything."

I shut my eyes [Feb. 9th, 2004|09:38 pm]
[Current Mood | sleepy]
[Current Music |Mum - Green Grass of Tunnel]

down from my.. ceiling
drips great noise.
it drips on my head through a hole in the roof.
behind these two hills here..
there's a pool.
And when I'm swimming in
through
a
tunnel....
I shut my eyes.
Inside the cabin I make sounds
In through the tubes I send this noise.
behind these two hills here..
fall asleep.
And when I float in
green
grass
of
tunnel...
It flows back.
down from my.. ceiling
drips great noise.
it drips on my head through a hole in the roof.
behind these two hills here..
there's a pool.
And when I'm swimming in
through
a
tunnel....
I shut my eyes

im kinda pissed because i had my first class of film and literature today. turns out the school decided to switch it to film and literature of the holocaust. which OK, thats cool, but thats not what i registered for. apparently other people got a phone call letting them know, ofcouse no one phoned me. and i can't really drop it because its a class that meets once a week for 3 hours, and my schedule is so horrible as it is, i dont know if i could get a new class. not to mention the fact that its probably too late to change since schol started on a tuesday and this class meets on monday, we had our first class today. the deadline is usually the first week of classes. grrr bleh always something

"talk of the town and you're always so around" [Jan. 1st, 2004|07:20 pm]
[Current Mood |bleh]
[Current Music |Tears for Fears - Mad World]

i've come to realize that new years eve has got to be the most overrated holiday. so anyway..

highlight of the day: my dad was with his guitar teacher after a lesson and one of the other guys invited all of them for a drink.. and so the guy (in his 80s) said " yeah i have time for an odi" then laughed and said "i bet none of you know what a wine spodi odi is" well my dad, schooled in kerouac 101 by me - knew lol turns out this guy knew kerouac. he's a famous musician from that time and said kerouac used to follow them all around. i wanna meet this guy - my dad is always relayin to me stories this guy tells, ownage

feels good to be in 2004 with somewhat of a new start. but bleh bleh bleh its all the same. i just hope im not bothered by the typical bullshit i let get to me constantly..

reviving monarchs [Dec. 22nd, 2003|10:59 pm]

[Current Music |Belle and Sebastian - Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying]

i saw "adaptation" today. i remember [info]chaos_evolved saying i would specifically like it, and he was right. i love when people make a statement like that and it follows though lol - spike jonze rules as well, i reccommend the dvd of his work if your a fan. rewatching the movie reveals so many things that make the ending even better, which at first seems odd. it took a drastic turn but ended well, however after rewatching it i appreciate the way the movie goes towards the end. so "stop apologizing for your existence" and see this film -

i went to the library today to see if i could find some interesting books to read over the brake. i usually prefer to buy them, but since i know im getting a bunch of books for Christmas, the library seemed like fun. ofcourse, it sucked, not even 1 kerouac book in stock. although they did, to my surprise, have some chuck pahlahniuk books. maybe all the kerouac stories were taken out, doubt it, i'll pretend thats the reason anyway.

they had a "for sale" rack, and i got "the count of monte cristo" for $.75, and a book on hiking lol.. it was 2 for $1 so i was feeling kinda in a nature/dharma bums inspired mood so i picked it up. its actually pretty cool the kind of trails and shit there are in the US, none really near me. heh

The land between solar systems [Dec. 2nd, 2003|09:12 pm]
[Current Mood |:: yawn ::]
[Current Music |múm - smell memory]

Took a trip to NYC today with [info]antinorr for business and pleasure -lol-. Although, in someways there was no pleasure involved since we HAD to go for some shitty class -jk-. I needed to get some shit done at Baruch - transcripts and crap so we went there first. After that we headed over to Generations, then The Met. I really enjoyed the day in spite of the fact it was bittery cold, wtf it was even snowing!

Highlights:

  • Going to my old coffee stand (best cup of coffee you can ever have and $.50 too)

  • Getting a beat poster of "On The Road" from Generations

  • Randomly seeing the new Chris Cunningham DVD and buying it

  • Nearly getting attacked by some bum who wanted rolling papers " bah bah bleh booooooom"

  • Seeing Salvador Dali's "Madonna" at The Met (my fav) and a Jackson Pollock original

  • The guy who started crying on the bus because no one would give him a seat "i bet this bus has YOUR name on it - that's why you won't let me sit- oohhh my feet - (i was standing otherwise i would've gotten up just to shut this guy up - although some hardcore dude told him if he didn't stop he would drag him off the bus by his heels, that seemed to work as well lol)

ah it's been awhile since I took a city trip, felt good. Ofcouse like all good city trips it involved a walk through "the park" - washington sq pk - fun day!

[Current Mood |beat]
[Current Music |Bjork - Big Time Sensuality (Plaid Remix)]

today was a good day, for more reasons than one. its times such as these when i realize things are as they should be for a reason. and given enough time, will and faith, anything is possible really. i don't know if that means much to people, or if im really conveying this with the feeling as i see it now, but this is my thought for tonight.

despite a gloomy day defined by clouds and rain, i find myself experiancing what i am looking for.

"maybe not from the sources
you have poured yours
maybe not from the directions
you are staring at"
